Marin Chorbadzhiyski was born in 1967. His musical talent was recognized at an early age, along with a healthy curiosity and interest in the intricacies of how instruments work.
“I will never forget the reactions of my parents when I tried to ‘dismantle’ my first musical instrument!” says Marin.
The musical path led him to the National Music School, Bulgaria and on to the State Academy of Music, Sofia, studying violoncello with Professor Zdravko Jordanov. There, he opened the doors to the beauty of music as well as the fascinating world and secrets of luthiery. “For more than fifteen years I have been studying the secrets of this world, and the sharing of knowledge with colleagues, luthiers, musicians and all who seek help for their instruments has turned my hobby into a serious occupation”. Through his commitment as a professional musician in orchestras such as the Bulgarian National Radio Orchestra, Russe Philharmonic and Festival Les Coréades d’Automne, France, Marin was able to identify the problems and needs of his colleagues in terms of the repair, restoration or simply tuning of their instruments.
